Rosie called me at 17:30 to say that the electricity to the entire flat had gone off, even though none of the switches in the fuse box had tripped. At the time she had the air conditioning running in heating mode, but otherwise usage was normal, so there was no obvious reason to suspect an overload.
I switched the main IGA off for about 10 seconds, also reset the air-conditioning breaker, and then turned everything back on. Power was restored immediately.
I remember the same thing happening a few times last year when Imo and her friends were living in the flat. Occasionally the power would cut out while the air conditioning was on, but none of the fuses had tripped, and resetting the IGA in this way brought the power back.
My assumption is that this is related to exceeding the contracted power (potencia contratada) with Endesa. I’ve asked Rosie to let me know if it happens again, and if it does I’ll contact Endesa to discuss increasing the contracted power, which is currently 4.6 kW.
